Today I penciled the last thumbnail for my next short story comic, Rocket, and now I’m stoked to start the real version tomorrow, so I can get it online for you guys!
I’m giving myself a (very) soft deadline of May 1st. Jeez, just typing that makes me nervous, but I think I can do it! Wish me luck, and come back to read it in May :)

Dream Comics

I’ve been recording my dreams since I was in junior high, but never in comic form. I’m hoping to do a lot more of these if people like them. They’ll probably be just as disjointed and confusing as most memories of dreams are.

Click to look at the full size version. (Tumblr folks, you might have to come to the blog from your dashboard first, sorry)

Ryan Andrews dream comic

These were inspired by the beautiful work of Emily Carroll. Please take a moment to look at her dream comics as well.

Comic: One Last Snowfall

Although short, this is officially the first comic I have ever finished! Its based off a Japanese song called なごり雪Nagori Yuki, made famous by Iruka’s cover version.

If you can’t read the text, just click on the image. It’ll get all big for ya.

While I’ll always love Iruka’s version, when I heard this cover, it was the first time I actually got what the song meant.

Ikebukuro West Gate Park Chapter1

So I’ve been reading the novel Ikebukuro West Gate Park by Ishida Ira, and thought with its itty bitty short chapters, it could make a cool lil’ graphic novel. Gonna try it out with the first chapter about Yamai. Here’s the first page and the sketches for your viewing pleasure.

This is the first time I’ve done any finished comic muck since I was in Junior High. It’s as difficult now as it was then.
