Scholastic asked me to do an updated cover for Avi’s book The Man Who Was Poe ! I got to do a lot of research on this one to get the location accurate. It was my first time illustrating a real place, which presented a nice challenge. I wanted to go a little more stylistic with the architecture, but I tense up when I draw things in perspective. In the end I was pretty happy with how it turned out. Thanks to Natalie Sousa for once again being a great AD.
